I booked a weekend in the 1000 islands as a bit of a getaway while I was working in Jakarta. I booked with Mazu divers and it was all good, I couldn't fault the dive shop and the equipment. The problem is the dive sites, after diving around Asia, I was astounded at the level of abuse the reefs and... More

The pictures they put in the Internet are enticing and there may be a couple of private islands that are kept clean but for the most part these islands are covered with trash from Jakarta. There is trash on all the beaches and shorelines. Ironically, the reef life and snorkeling is not that bad compared to the Gili Islands off... More

In Harapan island, you will not found the beach because this place has been used as residential for local people. But in the around of Harapan Island, there are many good island which have spectacular beaches. Many good spot also for snorkling. But mostly, the corals has died.

Of course Indonesia has so much to offer when it comes to islands, but one should not miss their chance to at least get here to see a glimpse of what the rest of the country has to offer. You need to get to the northern jetty point really early in the morning otherwise it gets really crowdy after 8... More

This Resort Attraction is a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the Downtown Jakarta City area. You should ask your Concierge at your Hotel how to best get to the area from your location...

Out of the 128 small islands on Pulau Seribu, only 45 islands are open for visit. Can't say no more; this is the perfect place if you're into island-hopping and water activities such as snorkelling and diving. The more popular islands, which we visited, were Bidadari, Sepa, Putri, Alam Kotok and Pantara. You are bound to experience crowds here during... More

I went to one small island close to Jakarta. Around 30 minutes from the indonesian capital. The reception wad very nice. Drink, food and traditional dance. We went around the island and noticed that we couldn't swim anywhere unless a very small beach with 10mts wide. The lunch was ok and the afternoon was spent next to the pill. I... More
