Museum houses beautiful treasures gifted to President Suharto over his 30 years of reign. The museum is vast and takes a very long time to see everything. The collections are well displayed and you can learn so much from this visit. There is so much history here and a place for both adults and children. The Museum is a great... More

Maybe because the museum shows you the private collections of Pak Harto, the collections are so vary and just simply amazing. Bringing your professional camera (not phone camera) will cost you some money.

First visited the museum about 20 years ago, it looked interesting. The second visit a few months ago, the atmosphere in it looks much different. Placement of goods less attractive and less interactive with the visitors. When the young visitors are expected to visit this museum, there should be a lot more interesting information written on each item displayed.

People said that this is collections of international gifts for delegations for Soeharto (the Indonesia former and the longest serving President). The biggest gift (and the most lavish) is a bed carved with jade and other jewelry. Too bad the museum is dark and dusty. They should improve the lighting to makes the artifacts more dramatic.

This is the most distinctive museum in the world because all the unique displays were gifts from all over world to President Soeharto. All these gifts were displayed in a very unique and beautiful building in Jakarta. Each ornament resembles the super skills of craftmen of its country. There are a few gigantic crafts from tree roots which are most... More

The huge landscape itself is awesome, given the land price in the area. The collection is the best the country can have albeit a better curator may be needed. A simple yet affordable cafe should be set up in the midst of its garden providing a repose for visitors ( especially after touring this huge place )
