If you're looking for high quality souvenirs, this is the place. I found it much, much better than the Sarinah. There is everything from batik, figures, household stuff, coffee, tea, foodstuff, jewellery, so you get a great choice. Bring the credit card!

Personally I was really looking forward to this place as I had heard a lot of local arts and crafts were sold here. It's all true but no one told me. This place was also extremely expensive. I mean 'tourist trap' expensive. I liked a lot of things but my shopping was restricted because prices on some items were beyond... More

Went there to eat their desserts which they are famous for and came out satisfied except for the service which was terrible. The desserts served are Indonesian and are amazingly yummy. They do have a lot of local coffee in their menu.Service was too slow and had to remind them over and over again for the orders. On the whole would rate this... Although most of the items are quite expensive, but it is certainly worth the money. The quality of the batik are very good and if you are looking to purchase something for yourself or as a gift, Alun Alun is a great place for it.

This is my favorite store in Jakarta for batik and also non-batik from Indonesian designers. There are beautiful jewelry options with unique statement pieces, it is displayed almost like a museum instead of a store. There are also many gifts and crafts, including wood carvings, home textiles, wayung, and other small items. Visit This store!

It's located inside the mall. Grand Indonesia Mall. All of the products are Batik. Most of them is the high end brand Batik. This shop is got some appreciations for its originality and quality. If you want to buy some gift or for yourself with high quality Batik, you should come here. Prepare your wallet for this. It's not cheap,... More

Alun Alun is the best place in Jakarta to purchase handicrafts from the entire archipelago, many high end. In their very large shopping area absolutely everything is available from clothing to children's toys to jewelry to batik equipment. There is even a café where you can take a rest.

I am Indonesian, but all these time, every time I look for Indonesian gifts or souvenirs, I always think to buy them in Jogja or Bali. Well yes, it's true that souvenirs are a lot cheaper there but when you are in Jakarta, you have no time to go to traditional market, and you need to buy Indonesian handcrafts/ kinck-knacks... More
