I liked the area, it was beautiful up there. If you do not have many days in Yogja it may not be worth the drive as it takes about 5 hours to get there and in my opinion (though very beautiful) its not worth driving...More

Easy to get to, Merapi has many faces all of them (except complete cloud cover) beautiful. Drive up to the village destroyed in 2009 to get some idea of natures power. If you can time your visit to coincide with a small eruption so much...More

I has been Many Times to Climb Mt Merapi Volcano, and after Eruption also I climb until the Peak and still have litle bit fire on New Caldera, if you like for Trekking in Yogyakarta Climb Mt Merapi 2998 is best Choice..

If there's a warning on the mountain, best you don't go. But on a quiet day, come up for a closer look and see the evidence from the last devastating eruption.

This place covered with volcano ash, river gone, ground crack, houses gone after the volcano explode. Take a jeep ride or motorbike ride, save time and see more.

You can using tour travel ,but you can using taxi or if the hotel have shuttle van u can ask for bring you to the base camp Jeep merapi lava tour ,because only local driver in merapi park can be drive there ,I’m recommended... More

It depends on the trip you choose either short or long distance. It can accommodate 4 adults + driver. If with kids should be ok. Not sure if all 5 adults. Probably not too comfortable. Cheapest with 3 stops sight seeing... More

I am shocked if you can "climb"/"hike" Merapi. They have limits to how close anyone can get after a tourist fell to their death there a little while back.
