Unforgettable and exciting Jeep journey. No suitable for children < 12 years old, senior citizen, especially women in pregnancy. Pls bring along the sun glasses and mask to avoid volcanic ash.

This a really worth doing but the hour long trip is enough (the jeep companies offer 3 options based on duration). The one hour trip gives you a sense of the damage wrought during the 2010 eruption and how the people and landscape have recovered.

It depends on the trip you choose either short or long distance. It can accommodate 4 adults + driver. If with kids should be ok. Not sure if all 5 adults. Probably not too comfortable. Cheapest with 3 stops sight seeing... More

I am shocked if you can "climb"/"hike" Merapi. They have limits to how close anyone can get after a tourist fell to their death there a little while back.
