Beautiful quiet temple about 10 mins walk from Prambanan. No any tourists, don't know why people skip this amazing place.

This is the Buddhist temple that nearby Prambanan temple. You can rent a bicycle from Prambanan to here with only 10k for single bicycle.

Very impressive set of temples, some restored some being restored. Whne we visited there were lots of local school children so we went round the back where it was very quiet.

This ancient monument has stood on this ground for centuries, been shattered by earth quakes and reassembled. Still the faithful come to pray. On the day we were there the heavens opened and the rain pelted down. It didn't dampen our wonder.

Visit this temple on Vesak Day and you can attend the Vesak Ceremony with thousands of Buddhist people. The hotels around Sewu Temple will be full on Vesak Day, so you must book the hotel in advance or you can stay in Yogya City.

Big shopping malls offer major brands, but it is not too much cheaper than Europe. Durian season starts in November.
