Hindu marvel

This group of Hindu temples dates to the 9th Century. Absolutely amazing. Don't miss the experience of seeing it, especially at sundown

No visitor to Indonesia should miss seeing its two greatest sites: Borobadur and Prambanan. Both are exquisitely beautiful but in different ways. It is such a pleasure to stroll around this magnificent temple , taking in its loveliness. This is another unforgettable experience.

Sewu Temple is about 700 meter walk from Prambanan Temple. There should have been information on signages to say that you can't really step into the temple as the whole place is still under restoration and has been cordoned off with fencing and locks.

At the temple ground everyway you look there are piles of ancient carved stones laying around waiting to be resurrected. The scale of the original temple is much larger than what we see here. Walking in between the rubble you have a sense of being in a movie set of Indiana Jones of the lost world's treasure hunt.

Located in the farthest end of the Prambanan complex. It is being refurbished when we were there in April. A smaller complex vs that of the main Prambanan Temple.

The temple is still under maintenance after the earthquake in 2006. The architecture seems to resemble that of the Prambanan temple.

Though this is not the main temple in the area, it is beautiful and very much worth a visit. The good thing also is that it is generally not very crowded since most people go for the bigger and more famous temples. So, you can admire this in more detail than others. It is on the farther end of the... More

It is within Pambansang temple complex,  just 10 minutes walk from Prambanan temple.  This temple is small compared to Prambanan but very beautiful. The place, a good respite from the crowds in Prambanan. Enjoy the ruins and it's  carvings.     Make a visit to this temple when you visit Prambanan temple...do not miss it. It is worth a visit at least... More
