There is everything at this market (jewelry, food, clothing, souvenirs, dishes, technology) and the stallholders are friendly. The food section has anything you could think of. I'm vegetarian and I had no trouble finding delicious, authentic food here.

Like other reviews, I agree this is worth checking out for cheap souvenirs and Chinese food. We had just finished breakfast so weren’t hungry but there was lots of choice if we were. Most stalls are selling similar things but we got done cute wine...More

Crowded, colorful and fun location for picking up those must have souvenirs. Great range and good value. Use the MRT to travel to Chinatown and take the Pagoda St exit. You can also get some great Chinese style snacks and meals.

Very typical street market if you have spent time in any other country in SE Asia. Many shops and most are selling the same thing. Haggling is fun bu the selection is limited to the same thing over and over. its easy to get lost,...More

Yes there are lots of little stalls with cheap mass produced merchandise I would not buy. But there are also great places for quality items. A lacquerware store has some nice pieces for your home or office. A worked wood shop sells popular engraved or...More

Definitely a place worth visiting when in Singapore. Make sure you have time to browse most, if not all, of the stalls.

Like most of the other chinatowns in the world this is a very busy place with all the smells, the noises and the different peoples. If you like crowds with no room to walk that is what you will get. All the shops are basically...More

This street market is very busy, so many people, so many tourists. A good place to relax and watch people walking by. You can see a lot of different culture coming to this street.

Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful
sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling
sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its
blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an
Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit
almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony
continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to
the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill.
