The street links Trengganu Street to South Bridge Road and has been converted into a pedestrian mall. Once a place home to brothels, it now houses food outlets, bars, retail shops and on the other side, there is a row of pushcarts selling a range...More

Shops selling tourist tat, food stalls, nothing really special - have a wander but wouldn't go out of your way.

Sago Street , in Singapore's Chinatown, has a long and fascinating history. It was called Sago Street because in the 1840s there were some 40 sago factories, making sago flour from the pith of the Rumbia Palm Later it became one of Singapore's main red...More

I just can't imagine this place was once the Street of the Dead, where bodies were dumped here. Now, I could not find a single funeral parlor in any of the shops around. Most shops along this lane are engaged in food or retail businesses...More

Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful
sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling
sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its
blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an
Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit
almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony
continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to
the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill.
