An experience for all five senses. Start at the Tekka Centre, a traditional wet market and food court where fresh meat, seafood, vegetables, fruits and dry goods are sold. Cruise down Serangoon Road to find more groceries, restaurants, teahouses, tailors and Mustafa Centre, a massive department store selling anything and everything. Visit during Deepavali, the Hindu festival of light, held in October or November.

Was a very different experience indeed, were told by a couple of Indian visitors that don’t think that the area is anything like India itself, and as my husband and myself haven’t yet experienced India, we cannot say if it was or not. The stalls...More

We now live in Singapore which is cool as we can come to Little India once a week for a curry. Many restaurants to choose from but the crowd and people make it so fragrant and enjoyable

With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of
Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander
past traditional barbershops while local residents in
brightly coloured saris patronize retailers from
decades past. Peruse streets lined with colourful
shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge.
Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts
and take in the stalls selling bright flowers,
