- BonniShelly Beach, Australia33 contributionsBeautiful ExpreienceAlthough it was crowded being a public holiday and a special Avatar Experience attracting many locals, this was a really enjoyable place to be with an amazing indoor waterfall and plants that would normally never grow in the steamy tropics. I particularly enjoyed seeing the display of orchids from South America. It took several hours and many photos later before we left.Hello! Thank you for your review. - TheLeongOhanaUnited States7,505 contributionsCool breakWe headed over to the Cloud Forest to escape the Singapore heat and humidity. When we arrived the ticketing line was short and a combo ticket for both Cloud Forest and Flower Dome was the only way in. That ticket was roughly SG $53. Entrance was one floor down and once inside we got to see the worlds largest indoor waterfall at 35m. It was quite a sight and experience the nice cooling mist as the water tumbled down. Throughout this visit we also got to see some realistic creations from the Avatar movie Way of the Water. They invested a lot of time creating them but also in adding movements, sounds and interactive activities such as Avatarize Yourself (transformed our photo into our Avatar equivalent) and Fly The Banshee (took on a flight above Pandora). The forest itself was modeled after many examples of forests in the higher elevations around the world. Lots of very informative signs that also highlighted some of the ongoing challenges to keep these forests (climate change and human encroachment). The walkway at the very top of the forest was excellent with aerial views that wound it’s way down level by level. Views of the Marina Bay Sands and the Ferris wheel can also be had in the distance. So many varieties of plants and trees to see along with some very interesting art, carvings and other statues cleverly integrated with the setting. Should be a nice visit to repeat in the evening.Hello! We are glad you had a great time at the Gardens. Looking forward to having you back at the Gardens soon! - feetfirstRadlett, United Kingdom149 contributionsBeautifulAfter the heat & humidity of Singapore this beautiful structure recreation of the cool high altitude rainforests is a welcome relief.Anyone whose experienced the Eden Project would be blown away by the sheer beauty of the building, plants & waterfalls here. A note of caution, due to the wet conditions, the floors are slippery. I fell over as a result.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 4 October 2023

You are able to discover different levels within the fauna, simply magical. The film show and animation was a great addition for everyone not just the younger visitors. - RobTarMelbourne, Australia281 contributionsSpectacular experienceNearly every review will say how stunning the waterfall and greenery is, talk about the avatar theme ect… I agree and concur with most comments. Not being an avatar fan myself, it wasn’t a big thing personally for me. We walked in just as the mist started and it was spectacular. A bit of luck there as we had issues trying to find where to buy tickets and then the line up to actually get in was difficult. Our first and only experience in Singapore of organise chaos, once we got through that mess we were very pleasantly surprised. It was really nice to walk around at our own pace to explore. Bit expensive but overall the experience was worth it. If you can be there for the misting times you’ll be in for a treat.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 November 2023
- Citra EJakarta, Indonesia24 contributionsA very good experienceI really like this place. After struggling with the hot weather in SG, this place is a must. It’s cold, aircon was really good. This place is huge indoor area with lots of tree, indoor waterfall, with those descriptions. I suggest you to come here with lot of spare times and full tummy. Because you can take photos a lot, and I stayed there for around 3 hours and none of food there. Toilet was really clean and smells good. There’s also an escalator and elevator so it’s a wheel chair friendly.Hello! Thank you for your review. We are glad you had a great time at the Gardens. We didn’t expect to enjoy this too much as we’re not particularly fans of Avatar, but we absolutely loved our visit. There was so much to see, and all the plants, trees and flowers are amazing. Well worth seeing if you are in the park.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 November 2023
- Hiru KBattaramulla, Sri Lanka208 contributionsMagicalI would recommend visiting Cloud Forest in the evening because when it gets dark it turns into a truly magical place with different lighting. The cloud forest was Avatar themed when we visited and it had great sections to create our own avatar, dance with our avatar shadow and life-like animatronics of Avatar creatures. The misting hour makes the whole cloud forest look like a rain forest.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 8 December 2023

I will be back, I can't wait to show my other family members this amazing experience in 2024. It is so worth visiting, do yourself a favour and do it. In the midst of the heat, in the middle of the Corona Virus Scare we decided to spend a Saturday at the Cloud Forest. Or in the Cloud Forest. First of all, bring a real shirt, or a light sweater or jacket because the temperature is quite a bit lower than outside. The Cloud Forest is a variation on the greenhouse theme and in this case it’s a very expensive and very interesting one. A little too much oriented towards school trips when it comes to global warming et al but well done and, of course, important. But the whole highly expensive making of an artificial cloud forest is quite something to see. Worth it - and a great way to escape the heat. Normally I get the feeling that this is quite crowded, but with the virus scare it was lightly attended. I think it fair to say that people from 4 years old and up will get quite a kick out of it. Not for those who are truly afraid of heights.

The cloud forest is one of two gardens housed in the plaza and is the world's largest column-less greenhouse. We booked this through Klook as a bundled package that also included the flower garden and outdoor walkway for 22 USD per person. The forest offers free tours for groups of 5 or more but you can also venture on your own in around 1.5 hours. When you first enter there’ll be large crowds trying to get pictures so it may be hard to get one without people in it. Once you get past there you are able to walk all around the base and when you’re ready can begin your ascent towards the top. There are a series of escalators and elevators that will take you up to the top. Once you leave the ground level you will no longer be allowed to go back so keep that in mind. You’ll be able to visit the different levels on your way up which give unique perspectives of the waterfalls. Since it is a greenhouse you’ll be able to see through and get an interesting perspective of a forest hidden in the city. As you complete your ascent you’ll then begin going down the various levels which have some educational information on the forests. We were happy to see several educational pieces about our carbon footprint as humans and how we can help reduce it to protect these marvels. Afterwards if you purchased a flower garden ticket you’ll just cross the walkway outside to enter the other exhibit and you can re-enter with a hand stamp to either one. We both found the cloud forest to be a very interesting twist on a traditional greenhouse and worth visiting especially due to the bundled price!

Cloud Forest is inside Gardens by the Bay in Marina Bay. As soon as you walk in you feel a breeze of a cascade, which was simply amazing. Your eyes love all the green around you. Although this is a human made experience, there is a natural environment that you simply forget it is human made. The entrance costs around $10 USD, but it is worth it, even more if you are always in an urban setting.

Wow how do they fit so much inside this place. You are basically inside a massive glass greenhouse with the most beautiful plants and flowers and a magnificent waterfall. Its 35 meters tall and it creates a mist inside the facility. They have elevators and escalators everywhere which makes it easy for everyone to enjoy
Our 7 year old daughter loved it which surprised me I thought she would be bored. I recommend taking a jacket it can get very cool inside.

We bought a combined ticket so went in not sure what to expect. Wow!!!! The first thing to greet you, after walking through a short tunnel, is a massive waterfall flowing over plants. The spray is so welcome after the heat outside.
From there it just gets better and better, with incredibly attractive ‘natural’ planting incorporating wooden sculptures that you could easily not spot. I couldn’t stop taking photos because the entire experience was mind-boggling.
We queued (not long because the lifts were frequent) to go higher inside the dome containing the whole thing) and continued to be amazed. The wide, railed walkway is so cleverly curved and constructed that, as well as experiencing the amazing views, you’re not scared of being high-up.
We enjoyed the visit SO MUCH that we got our arms stamped so we could return later in the day. Unfortunately time ran away with us but we will make a point of revisiting next time we’re in Singapore.

Stepping out of the still muggy heat into the refreshing negative-ion rich atmosphere of the Cloud Forest, took my breath away. Looking up,way way up, at the water cascading gently down, enveloped by the sights and sounds of the semi- self-contained ecosystem, a thought made my eyes wet: Within this vast dome, the creators have boldly created into real life what the Hollywood makers Wakanda in Black Panther could only make us dream of. It is an inspirational wonder of the world. And it comes, unexpectedly, with an effective educational warning. Near the very end, all visitors are led out of the airy light through a darkened chamber. A dramatic hard hitting summary the state of the planet's threatened ecosystem outside the bubble is laid out in unambiguous terms. Rather than disgorge you crest fallen, back into that outside world, you are first gently treated to one more section of astounding condensed beauty, bolstering the spirit and hopefully the resolve. Well done Singapore!

The Cloud Forest is truly a sight to behold. It’s everything you see on all those travel shows and more. It definitely lives up to its expectations and is not one of the “tourist traps”.
We came by on a Thursday at around 4 pm . We had a combined Gardens by the Bay ticket, which included entrance to the Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome. We purchased it through Klook, and they have various combo options. I’d definitely recommend purchasing tickets beforehand because the tickets to purchase on site looked like it would take an extra 20 minutes or so. By pre-purchasing, it was a breeze. There was no wait and they just scanned our ticket barcode.
Inside, you’ll want to take a pic with the iconic waterfall at the entrance. Luckily, it wasn’t too crowded at the time we went, so we didn’t have to wait too long. There are different levels of flowers and plants you can take the elevator too. At the time of year we went (September 2022), they were prepping for an Avatar exhibit so it seems like there might be something special going on at certain times if you’re lucky enough to catch it. There are a lot of high winding walkways, so just beware if you’re afraid of heights. For us, it took about 30 to 45 minutes to walk through and explore everything from entry to exit.
If you only have time for one museum, I would prefer this one over the Flower Dome because this one is much more unique.

I’ve visited Cloud Forest before on my first visit to Singapore and decided to visit it again. I’m glad I did, but I won’t be back. Why? Once is enough to see it.
There was a long queue to get into the Cloud Forest, and then once you got inside there was another really long queue to get to the lift to take you to the top of the Cloud Forest. I would have happily taken stairs instead of waiting for over 30 minutes inside the Cloud Forest to get the lift to the top, but they ushered you into the queue and there was no option to walk up.
There was little to no crowd control / queue management either - lots of people cutting queues and no-one in site to manage the queues.
This time, I was in and out pretty quickly, mainly as I’d seen it before and I’d visited the Botanic Gardens the day before where there was so much more to see - and it’s free at the Botanic Gardens. Even Mount Faber was nice.
The Cloud Forest is a bucket list item for most people visiting Singapore and I do recommend visiting. Then visit the Botanic Gardens for comparison.

The cloud forest is divided into several levels and as you climb up the type of vegetation changes. Starting from bottom with broad leaf plants to moss and coniferous at the top.
There are carnivorous plants for display which I saw for the first time ever. At the entrance there is beautiful misty indoor waterfall.
You need to queue to go to the top level by elevator and then can come down viewing each level one by one. Exit is a bit confusing so do ask before coming down.

Having already walked around the outdoor gardens & seen the light displays around sunset, the domes were a bit of a disappointment. The flower dome would be great for botanists & anyone especially interested in plants or trees, but we found it a bit ordinary. Possibly as many of the plants were overly familiar to us but they do have different features on a monthly basis. We found the best features were actually the sculptures in the dome. The cloud dome was definitely the more interesting of the two domes due to the structure of the planting and elevated walkways. Unless you’re really into plants, enjoy walking around the rest of the gardens for free, save your money & make time to admire the waterfall & garden display inside Jewel at Changi airport which we found stunning which is equal to the cloud dome, free to see and you can eat and shop there to boot!

can someone explain to me the difference between flower dome and cloud forest and can you reccomend it to me which is more worth it to visit?
Written 10 March 2019
Your admission grants you access to both, so if time isn't a factor, see them both.
Flower dome is a large, inside garden with flowers and plants from around the world organized by geographical location. Depending on how long you want to look at the flowers, it could take you 45 minutes or several hours.
Cloud forest is connected to flower dome (via the gift shop). Cloud forest is like anything anywhere else in the world. When you first walk in, you're greeted by a large, indoor waterfall. You make your way around the exterior moving upwards, experiencing the flora of a cloud forest. Once at the top, you then descend through the middle of the structure to learn more about geology.
If I was only doing one, I would definitely do Cloud Forest.

Which of these gardens would you recommend for kids?
Cloud forest, Botanic, Gardens by the Bay or the Orchid Garden
and how much time should I reserve for these?
and what time of the day is best?
