This is possibly the most beautiful place I have seen. The people are friendly, they live in dilapidated houses with tin roofs & have sheep in their gardens but it has a character unique to this place & I would hate to see it change. Just a short walk down the coast, you can walk among penguins - amazing.

The whale bones are amazing, thankfully they no longer hunt whales for decoration like this. However it is very historical. The whole port is very English - loving the red mail box and telephone booth.

It's quite a sight to see...when you then realise the size of a whale , and situated next to the cathedral it makes quite an impression.... Having seen it many times on programmes of the Falklands it made quite an impression

It was lovely to see the Arch in real life having previously seen it many times on the TV programme Island Parish. It is a reminder of the long and varied history of the Islands.

Situated next to the property of the cathedral, the enormity of the whale bones dramatize how large whales are. It is fitting that both the arch and church face Prince William Bay and the Atlantic Ocean beyond.

On its own it is not that interesting an attraction, but it's next to the cathedral. It does give an indication of the size of whales. Apparently it was given by South Georgia.

I would not go out of my way to view this whalebone arch, however it is next to the church so it is very convenient. Stanley is a quaint town and this is an easy walk from the tender boats.
