Yes, Cerro San Cristobal is a hill but it's also so much more. It's a beautiful, municipal park that is beautifully landscaped and maintained with many trails, gardens, and parks to meander through. If you don't mind the wait, you can take the funicular located...More

While most people will come here by funicular and cable car, it is not difficult to go up by walking. Here you enjoy a really stunning view of the city. It is particularly good to come for the sunset.

Not a very good experience I had. The park looked like it lacked some heavy maintenance: pieces of garbage everywhere and some construction leftovers here and there. Very few maps, most of them bleached out or worn by time. But all of that would be...More

Nice park great view in the summit and nice chapel. If nearby highly recommended. It takes about an hour to climb by foot I would recommend the funicular if pressed for time. Make sure its a clear day to see the andes

The line for the tram (funicular) ride was long, but fun for the kids. Great views, and interesting park once we got there. Another long line for the teleferico - but again, kids really enjoyed it.

If you are in Santiago, specially with kids, you should go there, many atractions, like the car cable and even a Zoo, also on the top of Cerro San Cristobal you have a nice view from the city and the Mountains.

We went at 10.30am and during school holidays. Had to wait 75 mins in queue but when we finally got up there views were spectacular. Should be on your itinerary if you visit Santiago but not sure when quietest time to go would be and...More

The Shrine and view over the city is beautiful would have loved to have been there for a Mass, very peaceful environment Virgin Mary overlooking the city is a beautiful sight Make sure you take cash as they don't accept credit cards for the funicular.

You shouldn't leave Santiago without seeing the spectacular views from Cerro San Christobal, but it's probably not worth queuing up for hours. If you can, why not walk up? The walk was half the fun. I'd previously read that it wasn't safe to walk due...More

San Cristobal is a must-see in Santiago. The views from the top are stunning. Lots of food vendors once you get up there.

We were there in late morning but, considering the 360 degree view from the top, the sunrise should be nice IF the sky is clear, which is a very rare occasion in Santiago. It is not a climb but a nice walk uphill, on an... More

According to my experience, when it's smoggy, you better try on another day to have a view. Weekends are usually better as a lot of people leave Santiago.

The funicular is closed after 8pm so I'm not sure you will be able to get to the top. General advise is to visit during daylight hours and use the roads. This is still a hill with a lot of nature: you need to know where you... More
