Had high hopes for spending a few hours ferreting around the stalls essentially for typical flea market curios. Incredibly disappointing, only a relatively small section with albeit interesting stuff - loved the old school magazines and pac-man games. The bulk of the market was your typical clothes/shoes/furniture stuff. Boring. Good cheap food and refreshments on both the street and inside... More

This place is huge. I never thought i would find the travelling magnetic chess set that I was looking for but wandering around everyone was helpful.I thought that I should haggle but when I realized they were only asking two Australian dollars I took the deal with Gracias. Food stalls nearby were good and this place has everything.

A landmark in Santiago, it occupies several blocks of the area and there you can find everything. A visit there is a trip back to Memory Lane. My favorite area is the "antics", here you find incredible stuff you had already forgotten. It's a lot of fun to bargain with the shopkeepers, to hear the stories they tell you, some... More

A friend opened small cafe, Bio Cafe, so we headed out for lunch. After gorging ourselves we needed to walk and walk we did. These streets and arcades have everything from furniture to toothpaste. We stocked up for the house, had keys made a took photos of and measured furniture. We ran out of time because of a late start... More

This is as local as it gets. The market stretches some 2x2 blocks bound by San Francisco x Victor Manuel and Franklin x Placer. I think the flea market we wondered into was between Bio Bio x Place block. We went quite late on a Sunday arriving 12-ish. The outdoor flea market on Place and Franklin was still going strong.... This is a huge weekend market that I visited on a Saturday. It is big and fairly organized with all kinds of people. The organized venders are inside with the unorganized ones out on the street. The prices were all pretty good but on the street is where you get the much better deals. I was warned to take care... More

Great way to spend a morning in Santiago! Spend time with the locals as they go about their weekly shopping, tty some local street food and bartar away with the vendors on the many items they have for sale!

This is a fantastic market for all things vintage. I went simply to look around, and it's a great way to spend a Saturday morning. Walking upon rows upon rows of second hand goods I discovered done fantastic furniture, homewares, books, jewelry, lighting etc. If you go you should most definitely try the restaurant Lai Thai, which is a tiny... Want to be among the Chilean people? Without seeing tourists (yet) It´s not that the market is unique, because in every big city in the world you have this kind of flee, black markets where you can find anything for cheap....but I like to visit this kind of market (bazaars) because you´re getting in touch with the locals...beware of your... You can go either by yourself or accompanied, this place is huge. However, Placer street towards East of Santa Rosa street is the best. You will find the cool stuff there. Old stuff for cheap, even virgin cassettes! Cheap handcrafted stuff and a very nice food court where Japanese,Cuban, Brazilean and traditional Chilean food can be found for real cheap.... More
