There are very few good zoos in the world. This place is 100% NOT one of them. The animal enclosures are far too small, so small that there is only space for one animal, making them very lonely. The animals show obvious signs of distress....More

I am an animal lover and love to visit animal parks, but there are a few zoo's which leave you feeling sad. This is exactly that kind of zoo! The animals all have tiny enclosures with no sign of enrichment. Most enclosures are only large...More

Generally, zoos are pretty sad--except for San Diego. I have seen far worst, but still, this one is poorly maintained and the habitats are insufficient. However, the animals look kind of healthy for the most part.

We walked here from our hotel in Barrio Lastarria. There are plenty of bars with cold beer on the way. The zoo is VERY children friendly and you can get up close and personal with many of the animals which you cannot do in the...More

First of all, don't go during the hot summers because you have to climb up and down as the zoo isn't on a flat spot. Lots of variety of animal but so few of each of them. They all felt very unhappy, almost maltreated. Space...More

We really liked the zoo, it was blazing hot and water was readily available for sale. We saw the big animals tigers, lion, elephants and hippos. Most of the signs had english. The snakes didn't have good signs and a few exhibits were closed but...More

Small zoo half-way up Cerro San Cristobal, you can take the fenicular or walk up the hill. In many of the enclosures we did not see any animals, and there were very few animals in the zoo overall. Most look sad in their small enclosures....More

Conflicted whether to give it a rating of 1 for too small and "layout/design" or a 3 for doing the most they can w/ the allotted space and funding. This zoo is built on the side of a hill so considerable steps (and ramps) for...More

Enjoyed seeing the animals but not in those small enclosures. As an Australian I felt very sorry for the kangaroos being held in a small enclosure with no fresh grass and the emu all on his own. It made us sad. Seeing the native Chilean...More

As the main zoo in the city, I'm sure it's going to be a fun day out for the family, but truly this is one of the more saddening zoos I've been to in the world. It feels very outdated - little thought has been...More
