This museum is a MUST! It's in the artist's actual house. You can have a tour in English or Spanish. I absolutely loved the museum but the tour was way too short. At an art museum you should be able to take your time and...More

I enjoyed every minute of my tour at this museum. The artist really knew what he wanted to do and made sure his art work reflected those emotions. It is interesting how he used the hands to tell its own story in the images. You...More

This museum and home of Guayasamin is in a beautiful setting overlooking Quito. He was a prolific artist, and one of Ecuador's most well know. His works are dark and full of anger in most cases, not to my taste, but it was neverless interesting...More

We all should know more about this man, his art, and his politics - very inspiring! Tour his home first and then the Temple of Man - you will appreciate his art even more after learning about him

I was with a college study abroad group that toured both this museum and the Capilla del Hombre. This museum is Guayasamin's former residence. We got a nice tour of the place and we also hung out in the back by the pool, where there...More

Don't miss this museum next to the Capilla. It's now part of Guayasamin's stunning home, which can be toured for free. Pick up some prints for cheap!

The approach belies what turned out to be a fascinating insight into the work and varied art work collection of the artist Guayasamin. Well worth the $8.00 entrance fee, leave yourself 3 to 4 hours to take it all in.

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Hello, Would you be able to tell me who is available to authenticate a painting I have by Oswaldo Guayasamin? I purchased it at an estate sale and would like to get it authenticated and appraised. I do not speak Spanish. Thanks for any help or direction you may give me. Lynne

it's pretty out of the way up some steep hills. get a taxi, it's a cheap fare and a difficult walk, especially if it's hot.
