This is the best cultural place I've seen in Quito. The whole life of this artist is in this villa/museum. Good view of the city from there.

The art in this museum is not typical of what I usually enjoy but since it was part of our tour of Quito I took part. Enjoyed learning about the artist, seeing his art, and his house.

My friend & local guide extraordinaire, suggested visiting this venue. It's a great way to send a few hours taking in the art and life of Ecuador's most famous painter [unable to include name.. auto-correct would NOT accept actual spelling]. We had a very well informed English speaking tour guide in the actual museum, explaining the meaning and background of... More

A tour of the famous Ecuadorian painter Oswaldo Guayasamín´s home and beautiful grounds is well worth it in addition to a visit to the Capilla de Hombre next door. Beautiful and culturally important museum in the home and studio of Guayasamin who dealt with social justice themes whose work is filled with power and meaning. The view of Quito from... More

This art gallery and tour of the artist's home were highlights of our trip to Quito. The guides rush you a little bit, but you are free to stay as long as you want after the tour. Guayasimin was an artist I'd never heard of but I've come to enjoy and appreciate what he was attempting to in his artwork... More

The ticket covers the Guayasamin Museum (which is essentially the artist's house and contents that he donated to the Ecuadorian State before his death in 1999) and the La Capilla del Hombre gallery which was built to display some of his greatest works. Guided tours in English (and Spanish) take place regularly - you can only visitt he house as... More

We visited the Guayasamin Museum and house. The guide was exceptional. She was an ex journalist and took her time explaining all the art works. There was a small group of students with us as well. We enjoyed a quick walk through his house and were thrilled to see his studio and personal pictures. Found his connections very interesting, i.e.... More

The house by itself is worth the $4.50 taxi trip from El Centro. Even if you are not a fan of Guayasamin's paintings, it is woderful to see his works in other mediums, as well as the works of other artists (Monet, Picasso, etc) and the fabulous furnishings.

An amazing museum, great tour guide. We visited the museum with my kids (15, 12 and 9 years old) and the whole family enjoyed it. The top 1 in Quito!
