We had an illustrative tour through the house which Guayasamin at older age already protected to be a museum. Particularly his studio is a wonderful place to be: see the tables and tools used by the artist to do his smaller and bigger works.

This is a place you should not miss in Quito; the paintings--influenced by Picasso--are magnificient; be sure to take the free tour as otherwise much will be missed

Not to miss, if you appreciate art. The Capilla Del Hombre (Chapel of Man) holds and presents a collection of the works of indigenous artist Guayasamin.

If you visit la Capilla del Hombre, you should include this site in the visit. Guayasamín’s home is wonderfully converted to a museum and you learn immediately that he intended it as a gift to Ecuador, which he clearly loved. There is an array of...More

Unforgettable. Highly, highly recommended. Amazing residence - an architectural gem - filled with beautiful works of art, both pre-colonial and contemporary. The grounds and views are stunning. The Chapel of Man is deeply moving. Don’t miss it.

I enjoyed the art and the home. Might not be for everyone. I wasn't aware of the artist until now. Love the inspiration behind the art. Photography is not allowed in the museum or home, but outside is okey. We had a tour. Not sure...More

Great place to visit and learn more about Ecuador and this renowned artist. His home and photos with famous friends was also most interesting.

it's pretty out of the way up some steep hills. get a taxi, it's a cheap fare and a difficult walk, especially if it's hot.
