Resembling a type of small bread (panecillo), this hill makes an excellent observation point over Quito and features La Virgen del Panecillo, a majestic sculpture that can be seen from any location in the city.

I took the 1/2 day Quito City Tour by Greyline and was really pleased with all of the sites we visited. The El Panecillo was the last stop and the view is amazing, even on a hazy day such as the one I had. There...More

Beautiful overlooking the city. I recommend visiting it twice once during the day and again at night. You can also pay a small fee and go inside for beautiful views of the city. There are beautiful stained glass windows to see also.

This is not some great attraction but this is a landmark of Quito and important place for local people. The sculpture itself is nice and show apocalyptic interpretation of Mary, mother of Jesus. There is a balcony and a few small shops with local stuff...More

I visited as part of a convenient city tour option from Quicentro. Nice way to explore the city as it offers hop on hop off options. The view from the top was impressive until I visited Telliferrico which then took the first spot and this...More

This gift from Spain is truly lovely. The statue is created by an Ecuadorian artist and executed in Spain. It is on a majestic mountain overlooking the city. It shouldn't be missed.

We rode the Quito Tour bus up to El Panecillo and I am so glad we did! The hike up the hill would have been impossible for these gringos. The views from the bus were amazing as we ascended to the top. The statue itself...More

Definitely not 24 hrs. To be honest the view from the base of the statue is worthwhile.
