Resembling a type of small bread (panecillo), this hill makes an excellent observation point over Quito and features La Virgen del Panecillo, a majestic sculpture that can be seen from any location in the city.

Every day I have the opportunity to travel to the province of Pichincha to spend the end of the year with my uncles and cousins, and most of my days that I spend there I love to see the panorama of the city of Quito from the Mirador del Panecillo together with my cousins it is a very beautiful place,... The sight is not very interesting but there is nice view of the old city. Ask your taxi to wait for you at the top while you visit. The visit does not take long and taxis are hard to find at the top. We hoped on a bus that was marked for tourist sights to get down and ended up... More

I happened across this hill-top statue only because I was going into La Ronda where this hill sits. It's a nice photo prop, and the surrounding neighbourhood at the foot of the hill is interesting, but that's it, really. I would recommend this for the view, but far better ones can be obtained from TeleferiQo which is a 'must-see;' this... More

Nice panorama, that's all. The statue itself somekind of appologizing from Spain becouse of the past... If you are lucky, weather is clean, and you can have panorama "behind" the statue. If you miss it, dont mind to much.

Its a small statue. Really its not worth the going up. I went in the Quito Tour Bus, and they stayed 30 minutes! I mean there was nothing a part from a few vendors, and a nice restaurant. So I would avoid this. For amazing views of the city there are other sites.

We were dropped off here as part of a bus tour. The views are amazing and offer a great picture of Quito - its size and contrasting buildings from old to new.

A scenic point in the city that gives you a great view of old town and the surrounding areas. Busy with locals on the weekends.

El Panecillo is quite close to the city center so easy to get to. Don't go walking though! That's not so safe. The most special thing about going up here for me is that I finally had a good
