Once serving as a lively commercial center during pre-Columbian times, this large cobbled square is dominated by the enormous Iglesia de San Francisco and the monastery of the same name.

As of June 2017 (and judging by the mess, for the foreseeable future) this square has been completely closed off and is undergoing major reconstruction, so there's nothing to see. The church and museum are still open and well worth visiting.

Very pleasant square in the middle of the Old City, surrounded by lovely architecture. Many places to sit and the Revolution statue is lovely.

Close to Calle La Rhonda. Lots of activity when we were there. Surrounded by great restaurants and shops. In the middle of everything.

I would definitely visit this plaza and this church as it is worth the visit. As a result of the stoppage of the construction of the subway due to archeological finds and the subsequent tarps and other protective structures, this plaza is not as attractive...More

Such a beautiful , stately and historic square. It is immaculately preserved but what we liked most about it is how it is still used by the locals, it is still a centre of commerce and religion, full of traders and even preachers! Vast cobbled...More
