Talk about information overload. I visit botanical gardens almost everywhere I go. This one stands out even though I wasn't there at the best time of the year. The Bonsai exhibition was remarkable. The signage could be a little better. All and all a worthwhile...More

If you know about the well-maintained Bonsai collection--you'll probably visit it first, and miss the trails through the remainder of the garden. Pitcher plant house has unique hanging species--with the characteristics of "fly-trap" types on the outside of the pitcher. Very educational--showing the genetic relationship...More

We were so pleased with our two-hour visit to the Jardin Botanico. Calm, shady pathways were well signed and gave lots of opportunities to patiently observe the plant life as well as a variety of birds. The orchid house, in particular, was wonderful.

For a mere $3.50 admission you can see some pretty wonderful South American plant life. I really enjoyed my walk here, it was so peaceful. It does need a little TLC, but I am sure it is a work in progress. I was really taken...More

Spent about 1 hr 20 min here at the end of May. Found it to be a bit underwhelming. If you’ve been to other botanical gardens (for ex, those just outside Chicago), you’ll be disappointed. Orchid and cactus area are nice and have some interesting...More

We went for what we expected to be a relatively short visit, but wound up spending hours enjoying this gorgeous garden. A wide variety of the specimens were in bloom and produced some fantastic photos. An absolute highlight were the many hummingbirds flitting around. Although...More

These gardens are definitely worth visiting. Although the signage and map ( younare given a laminated one to use and return) is in Spanish, it is easy to find you way around the wandering paths to areas portraying various regions of Ecuador. The orchids are...More

This is really two Botanico, one for Ecuador plant life and other a Japanese garden. Admission is $3 (Feb. 2018) per person. Very easy walking around on many paths. Each plant type is labeled in Spanish. The Japanese garden is wonderful and a surprise.
