Bring a sweater and expect the elevation to kick your butt. That being said, you don't want to miss out on the spectacular views

Epic views. Go when quiet (weekdays around 4) and come down just before sunset so that you can see the town lit up. I saw all the sights in Quito and this was the highlight.

We had some time to spare and decided to take the Teleferico. The ride up was quite pleasant as the views unfolded and, although it was quite windy when we got off, the views were absolutely worth it. You can have coffee, food, and have...More

Such a fun way to get a glimpse of this beautiful city! Easy to navigate. Fun exploring at the top of the mountain. Highly recommend this touristy stop.

I usually just take a taxi. From the old town it should be about a 15-20 minute ride depending on the traffic. If you dont pay the driver to wait for you, you might have to wait awhile for someone to bring you back down.

It's just a good view. There is a mini cafe but not worth eating there. There is a chapel. Not much else.
