The best time to go is first thing in the morning in a sunny day if possible, to enjoy the bests views of Quito and the Andes. It opens at 9 am. If you want to walk further up. It could take between 2 to...More

My boyfriend and I loved going up the teleferico! Amazing views of the city. When we got up we rode horses up the hill even further. Make sure you prepare for colder temperatures up there.

Go up to 4100m and enjoy the wonderful views of Quito. The city of Quito is at least 66km e-w and 19km n-s. We felt a little seasick at the top(altitude) but had a hot chocolate and were fine. It is much cooler at the...More

We excitedly booked a taxi to go up the Teleferiqo and experience the views of Quito. When we got there. It's closed. It's closed till the 26th of May for essential maintenance so please be aware.

This is definitely a worthwhile attraction in Quito. One word of warning though, if you are prone to altitude sickness, it may not be for you. It would be a good idea to acclimatize yourself in Quito for a couple of days before venturing to...More

Going up the mountain on the Teleferico is a must-see while you are in Quito. On a clear, sunny day you will have amazing views of the whole city. Try going in the earlier hours of the day as it is generally clearer at this...More

We had only one day in Quito, but it was a beautiful clear day so this is the first place we went. It's best if you get there when the cable car first opens - we had no line at all! The views were spectacular....More

Great ride to 13,000 feet. Wonderful view of the city and surrounding volcanos and mountains. The view could be obstructed by clouds so be mindful of the weather conditions before riding to the top.

In credible views up there over looking Quito. Bring a jacket it can get pretty cold. It's a really nice place to hike around at the top.

I usually just take a taxi. From the old town it should be about a 15-20 minute ride depending on the traffic. If you dont pay the driver to wait for you, you might have to wait awhile for someone to bring you back down.
Thank you for your review. I will be going in August of 2017! Can you tell me what is at the top of the Cable Car Ride? We are not planning on hiking - are there things in walking distance? Restaurants, Shops and attractions? Thank you so much!

It's just a good view. There is a mini cafe but not worth eating there. There is a chapel. Not much else.
