I don't why I expected this to be gimmicky, perhaps because many life experiences have taught some of us not to believe the hype. But, after watching the film, and checking out the exhibits, somehow I managed to be alone in the room with la momia Juanita before the crowds came in. And I was very moved by the reality... More

Yes it comes under at least three different names, but be assured the museum is unique. A fascinating look at the short lives of three sacrificial maidens, the most famous named "Juanita" the ice-maiden. The museum offers a very interesting video on how the mummies were discovered and is short enough to prevent ennui. Insightful and informative - what more... More

Why does this museum have two reviews? One under Museo Santury & the other under its full name, Museo Santuarios Andinos?

The video was created in the United States (forgot what school) so it didn't need to be translated into English - very easy to understand. Our guide spoke English very well and the tour was interesting. He shared enough information that we felt like we were learning but... More

A short movie to start, it is quite hard to understand or hear what they say, it is a pity but you can guess...then a guide will give explanations about the pieces they found with the frozen mummies, very interesting, even too short..

Interesting display of artifacts but lighting is far too subdues to really see detail in some of the smaller pieces. Guides have varying levels of foreign language skills which may make things difficult for some. Note that address listed above is completely incorrect. It is at La Merced 110. 210 Santa Catalina will get you into an expensive restaurant and... More
