Although it's always crowded, it doesn't feel overwhelming. Always clean with lots of security. You get to see and chat with all sorts of people; tourists and locals. Lots of tourism agents. Mostly honest. I didn't feel overcharged at any stage. They weren't pushy either. Cusco is a must-do whether you're spiritually inclined or not.

Standing in the main plaza at night, you see not only the lighted buildings around the plaza, but the status from the mountain top near Sacsayhuaman and dotted street lights on the surrounding mountains. Very magical.

I loved sitting in the center and people watching. Be careful of the venders- they are everywhere. However- on a beautiful day it is a perfect place to take in the sights.

Cusco is a fascinating city. The historic district has several churches, museums, shopping and great restaurants. There are plazas for sitting and resting after exploring the charming cobbled streets and many beautiful views of the mountains if you climb upwards. We walked everywhere and saw the Inca, Chocolate and Pisco Museums and had some really high-quality meals. Cusco has so... More

We are traveling with our five children (12-23) around the globe and Cusco was a wonderful adventure for us. Sam Travel was very good at meeting our family's needs. We loved this historic tour. Our guide Cliser was thoughtful and very knowlegable. He gave us a thorough overview of the Incan people and the Spanish conquests. He was very good... More

The very best town in Perú, comparing Lima and Arequipa. We took free guide at Plaza des Armáda and we didn't regret. Two hour walk led to Incas and Spanish heritage, up to San Blas and guitar maker's house; ended up in Pisco sour glass for about 15-20 Soles each, group of 8 in good English. Nice Indian/Mestic guy, and... More

Everything about this city is magical and historical. The people the cobblestone streets, the rustic atmosphere of the place made me feel like I was in the set of the Indiana Jones movie.

Cusco offered us a calmed, relax walking afternoon and night to balance our high adrenaline and busy trip through Perú. Its Plaza de Armas is great place to embrace the city and its great people. If you can, enjoy the local restaurants around the area. You won't be disappointed!

Lots of ruins to see. Friendly atmosphere. Lots of shopping, not too pricey if you look. Will return some day
