On April 22nd 2017, I purchase a round trip ticket from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu for May 03 2017. I received declined, try again message when I checked out on the perurail website. When I call my bank perurail did charge my credit card for the amount. I'm out of 147.00USD and I still do not have a ticket for... More

This review is not addressed to Machu Picchu itself. I planned a one day trip to Machu Picchu on April 5th 2017. Yet, due to bad weather which resulted to a flight delay, i missed my train to MP from Ollantaytambo. I had no other chance beside cancelled the whole plan since my flight back to Lima is around 6.30... More

I was backpacking with my friends, and most services we used weren't exactly top-notch. PeruRail however, delivered a different experience, and once I arrived at the PeruRail Station near Cusco, I knew I was in safe and professional hands. I am especially thankful to Shannen (I hope I have her name right!), who was very friendly and helpful. I had... More

The Vistadome is great, the Perurail staff multilingual, attentive and helpful and the views along the way delightful during daylight. If you don't speak much Spanish, better have someone explain the station layout and procedures at Ollantatambo, particularly if you arrive at dusk or dark. The cars (coaches) on the train and trains themselves are unlabeled, and coaches not always... More

Try to get a seat on the train (left going up) with a river view. At the time of our trip (February) the Urumbamba was raging through the gorge and we had great views! On the way back down from Pueblo Machu Picchu to Allanto, we had a fashion show of Alpaca items from SOL. Quite a show! On both... More

Beautiful scenery from the train. PeruRail was punctual and safe. Good way to get to Machupicchu if you want to save your legs for all the exploring and climbing. The only issue I encountered was booking tickets off the PeruRail website which was working only half the time. Of note, I accidentally left my GoPro camera on board the train... More

My only reason for giving a 4 instead of 5 rating is because of the service at the ticket counter. I stopped at the ticket center in town but the gentleman said that he didn't have a timetable for the Vistadome so I had to go to the other station. There, I requested a front facing seat. The salesperson never... More

We took PeruRail to go to Aguas Calientes from Ollataytambo with a school group and although the ride experience was impressive, the lack of security and customer service following an unfortunate experience on board results in me giving a low rating. Our ride to Aguas Calientes was a comfortable one. There are announcements along the way that describe the scenery... More

It was an awesome experience travelling in Peru Rail, from Ollaytambo to Aqua Calientes (station for Machu Pichu) The comfort of the train is too good. Also it is well maintained. The refreshing beverage and snack helped in warming up during the chilly mornings. Also the beautiful and serene landscape outside was the icing on cake!!!
