After visiting so many cathedrals around the world, this one did not appear to be something very different. Since it is the biggest church in Cusco it does merit a visit. But do not expect anything special.

Located in the central Plaza de Armas the Basilica is worth visit if you are in Cusco. The design, artwork, gold and silver altars and ornaments are impressive. The entry fee will set you back 25 soles and if you bring ID you can rent a comprehensive audio guide for free. The tour with the audio took approximately 45 minutes... More

The Cusco Cathedral is located on the central square of Cusco. This is clearly the city center with many vendors and many locals dressed beautifully. What impressed me the most was the age of this church (1600's) and its condition...very well maintained. The cathedral is full of so many beautiful art objects. However, photography was not allowed in many sections.... More

To me this basilica was one of the most impressive ones in Peru, so not to miss. The size is huge, the wooden choir is really great and the small chapels to right or left impressive as well. Worth a visit.

It may be a bit blasphemous how much I enjoyed this Cathedral and the history behind it. We had a tour guide give us background into the history of this church and I wish I could have stayed longer. One of the 9 churches in the world dedicated to the Virgin Mary. There's Guinea pig in the Last Supper, statue... More

Use to be a templo Inca on the same area that is right now this Cathedral.Converted to a cathedral with some interesting art work that is prepared by the local. Must go inside to see the unique pieces and how the locals feel about religion. Entrance is free

A great new world example of of the Baroque architecture style of the cathedrals of Europe. Really 3 different cathedrals from 3 centuries joined together. Great history and art.
