Caral was interesting. It took nearly four hours to get there from Lima. The tour lasted about 1.5 hours. The climate is arid. We were in the desert with large sand dunes everywhere the eye could see. There is a vast series of temples still...More

We took a organised tour to Caral which included a local tour guide from the sight, who only spoke Spanish. It was still pretty impressive. The place is really big and well preserved.

Very interesting site. Best to allow 2 days for the visit a long four + hour drive on the Pan-American north from Lima. Not many tour companies have trips therefore best to rent a car and drive yourself. Good guides available at Caral.
