If you are close to Plaza de Armas and want to visit a more governmental sight, El Congreso is the place. They offer tours and when I went we actually got to sit in on one of the discussion between Peru's politicians. Make sure you bring your passport because they won't let you in if you don't. Such as many other buildings in Lima, its architecture is really beautiful. Typical tourist visit, I've made it on my own but there are options of guided visits (may be nice if you want to know about its history, I prefer do the search by myself)

this is a palace where the elite of politic partys take part of demoractic peruvian life. The arquitecture is beautiful.
