Hi everyone, I'm going on the trek in May, and I'm wondering what footwear I should bring. I don't really want to lug my heavy walking boots, as I'm travelling around for a few weeks beforehand. Will trainers be okay? I've heard mixed things. Any advice would be appreciated!

Considering the various elements you can be exposed to, we had rain, hail and sun I would go with a waterproof hiking boot. The altitude also starts to impact you so slipping or losing your footing could easily happen.
