the prado is a nice park outside the centre, that has a great botanic garden, split in northern and southern hemisphere, as well as in the parts of the world the plants and trees are from. we enjoyed especially the colony of green parrots, feasting on fruits and building their nests out of twigs.

I don't quite understand how this location has become #15 of the things to do in Uruguay. Prado is a very nice neighbourhood in the West side about a 20 minute drive from downtown with fancy houses, a large park and it's all safe to walk about. There are the Botenical Gardens, the Japanese Gardens and it's a short walk... More

I spent several hours walking around the Prado. It is a perfectly pleasant park, if you're looking for something to do in Montevideo. But otherwise it did not seem to me worth a trip.

On Easter Sunday, we took in the Criollo Gauchos rodeo at the fairgrounds in El Prado. Wow! Brave cowboys riding wild bucking bronco horses! A great time watching and taking photos!

I know. 'La Rambla' is the best par of montevideo yo visit. One of the best places to stay as well. But then, there is El Prado. Amazing parks, really quiet surroundings, and one of the best 'tablados' for carnival season (that means the whole of february an a good piece of march). Los Yuyos, an excellent distillery is a... As perhaps the premier park in Montevideo, El Prado is dingy and dirty. The city should spend more money on maintenance to make this an enjoyable location. Skip El Prado and spend your leisure time on the Rambla (beaches).

Wonderful place for a stroll on a sunny day. An extremely relaxing and lovely park to spend a quiet afternoon away from the crowds.

Lovely walk along the river - so much greenery. Took the city bus through perhaps not the nicest areas of Montevideo to arrive at this oasis. The area also includes the botanical gardens and the rosedal. It is such a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon. Highly recommend.

I regret not have visited this place before, after 6 years living in the city we have decided to tour Montevideo by bus, what an excelent idea. The selected day was not the greatest but getting to Prado, we could forget all about the wind and the coldness and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea at Hotel do Prado!
