Some good food options and a great chance to grab some essentials for the week. The pearls and other touristy trinkets I found to be marginally more expensive than in the stores so didn't buy much. Good activity to do on a Saturday as there's tons of hustle and bustle and some live entertainment at the stage.

Nice market, but only on saturday although its open all week with just 1-2 stalls. Saturday is the main day with big and cheap huge island style meals like chicken mushroom sauce and rice and similar, juice places are also around and souvenir stalls. Overall nice way to check out the local shopping scene.

We visited on the busy day - Saturday - & stayed a few hours. Stalls seemed to start to pack up around 1pm. Lots of local art/craft to look at, souvenirs galore. Lots of food stalls, as well as locals selling their (presumably home grown) produce. The best part was the stage area where some local dancers put on a... More

Lovely local market but reaches heights on a Saturday morning when the locals all come together. You can get everything there from tourist ware to food and fruit and veg. Very friendly traders. Pumping music as you enter puts you in the island mood.

This is a MUST do if you're on Rarotonga... all the locals and all the tourists go. There are SO many options for breakfast - local foods, european foods, fruits and coffees that despite going to Raro more than 10 times I still visit the market every time to experience a different breakfast. And to be part of the local... More

This is an outdoor market with everything Cook Islands. Fresh seafood, fruits and veggies locally grown, vendors abound and local food for sale make this a must see. Clothing and jewelry locally made gives you a taste and feel of the South Pacific. The market is crowded and open only till about 1pm or so. Enjoy

This is a must see thing to do as every Saturday the markets are on and all the islanders set up stalls fro fresh fish to handicrafts, fresh fruit and vegies. Fast food and delicious coconut drinks to be had, as well entertainment. A must see.

These markets on a Saturday morning are great. A fantastic chance to get that sarong/singlet and hat you will need during your stay. Cultural items, foods, and the dance show are all highlights to see and try when visiting. Souvenirs galore and a general opportunity to mix and mingle with the local people and enjoy the music.
