For some reason I love this museum - there are not many displays, tho the boats are really impressive and if you read the info on tiny printed cards in display cabinets you might capture some of the rich and troubled history of Fiji. Watch out for the stuffed parrot in the natural history part - it's strangely gloomy/weird appearance... More

This Museum is in Thurston Gardens in Suva. It was a lovely walk to the Museum and quite cheap to enter. If you love history then this is the place to be. The staff are lovely and there is plenty to see and do. We had a great time.

We dropped in here as part of a Rosie Holiday tour. Great to be with Suva locals and all the kids. Lots to see of the different stages of Fiji history. Also the grounds which looking through to the Parliament House are beautiful. The gift shop is very reasonably priced compared to the tourist shops like Jack's and Tappoos.

I would certainly recommend the Fiji Museum to any tourist/guest visiting Fiji and wanting to know more about the History of the Fiji Islands. The friendly staff at the Museum would be more than willing to assist anyone in their attempts to gather information about Fiji's history.

There is a lot to read in the museum but takes about three quarters of an hour. It's not a must do experience but not too bad and reasonably interesting.

Amazing historical journey back in time. The museum is not too big but very nice exhibition. Historical part is amaxing, unfortunately not too much about nature... the small shop has amazing books, if you need a book about Fiji visit the museum! On the way stop at the cafe and try the ice chai- best thing ever. Entrance fee is... More

Fiji Museum maybe a little different than other "high-class" museums around the world as it is very traditional and may seem quite empty. The artifacts here can take you to the 1800's and to the era of voyagers and cannibalism. It maybe little boring for those not interested very much in history but it is just an amazing place for... We visited Suva on our cruise to Hawaii and one place we spent time at was this museum. We found it very informative with great displays especially of their sailing rafts, what great sailers they must have been, hard to imagine how they navigated themselves to all the different places they went many centuries ago. A good shop there to... More
