My friends and I booked a day tour to Plovdiv, Starosel and Koprivshtitsa, and we had the most amazing time! Martin arrived early to pick us up and was a wonderful guide throughout the trip. The drive through all the locations was smooth and beautiful. Martin shared interesting insights throughout the tour, and was extremely attentive to our needs. We... More

We had a lovely trip with the wonderful guide Lubo (sorry, I know that's not spelt right!) who spoke great English and was very friendly and informed. As it's winter season we had a free collection from the hotel and then a few pickups around the city before we hit the road to Rila. The bus is small and comfortable.... More

Guide didn't have a lot of knowledge, behaved pretentious. Tour was a lot shorter than foreseen (Rila/Boyana). When we asked about the detour to the caves, the guide avoided to answer. When we said we asked because the previous group went there a few days earlier on the same trip, he turned and ignored us. Our friends going with the... More

This is a belated review. Back in April, I did two day tours with Traventuria, based on the very favourable reviews on TripAdvisor. Both were excellent (Plovdiv and Koprivshtitsa, and Rila Monastery and Boyana Church). Online booking, confirmation and joining instructions were all good. Travel was in an air-conditioned mini-bus and there were around six people in each group. Giorgi... More

The trip was simply amazing. The guide Martin, is entertaining and showed us plenty of things, also the stories are so interesting. We spend half an hour at the monastery's museum but it was worth it. Be prepared for the entrance fees which are not included and bring your cameras and smiles. Than you, Traventuria

I only had two days in Sofia. To explore the nature there around I booked a day trip with Traventuria. Communication with the office was very friendly! Thx Lilia & Magdalena! They recommended Vitosha Mountain. My guide Todor Nedkov was great! Very flexibel with interesting conversation about the sights of Sofia, history & mentality of the country and amazing nature.... For an easy way to visit Rila Monastery and Boyana do this tour. BUT be aware the guide put the whole minibus under HUGE pressure to stop at a restaurant 5 km before the monastery for a meal. The majority voted against it but he still made us stop there for 15 mins - I would guess that the guide... More

(Rila Monastery + Boyana Church day tour) Pros: - Small tour group - Super comfortable mini bus - Friendly/Informative tour guide - Convenient hotel pick up for a small fee Cons: - Admission fee to the Boyana church not included - Everyone is forced to sit for 1+ hour at a restaurant in between destinations, even if only half the... We took one day trip to Boyana Church and Rila Monastery when visited Bulgaria beginning of October. We were picked up from our hotel which was very convenient for only extra 5 eur. Our guide Vincent was professional and very helpful answering all our questions. Overall the trip was very well organized. I would also like to mention their website... More

The visit to the Rila Monastery and Boyana Church is a must do in Bulgaria. I have to say that the tour was very well organized by Traventuria as we could visit both places with no hurries and got extremelly detailed explanations from Martin, our tour guide. He was friendly and attentive (though I think he became a bit annoyed... More
