After reading all the reviews myself and my mother were excited to visit. It was not worth the trip. Maybe we went on a bad day but we didn't see anything decent to buy. We both thought the central market was better.

A lot has happened in the last couple of years everywhere in Sofia and the same goes for the Women's Market. It had an upgrade here and there but it did not loose it's charm. A lot of seasonal fruits and vegetables can be bought with some other stalls/stores offering different items like clothes and such. The road has been... More

Whether you want to buy local produce or souvenirs, this place seems to have everything. There's a lot of tat but not more than anywhere else in the city. Plus it's a genuinely bustling place and an interesting experience.

we went there with our young kids. We enjoyed walking around. The market is offering fruits, vegetables, meat and other consumable thing for the locals. It is very clean and pleasant. We felt save to walk around. While walking you can enjoy eating local food at very cheap price. Very recommended.

I was expecting is to be a really bustling bazaar but when we were there on a Saturday morning, it was quiet, felt perfectly safe and was very clean and well organised. The excellent produce was beautifully displayed - mainly food but a few touristy stalls too.

I went there a few times and you can rally find interesting things and food to buy. Anyways it is full of strange and not trusting people so you better keep attention once there.

I love outdoor markets and wasn't disappointed with this one, lots of interesting colours, smells and locals shopping there. Bought some lovely hand made socks, sheepskin slippers and ceramics cheaper than elsewhere. Great place to just be.

If you want to live just few hours like a local ...go there and appreciate people, faces, the space, the hard work for market's people, and traditional dishes, vegetables, fruits.... In Spring and summer its just perfect to see it with the sun and colors of fruits...think for smoothies, cake...

This is a market for visitors who wish to see authentic Sofia rather than tourists per sea. It's a genuine slice of Bulgarian life un-sanitised for wealthy visitors. I would recommend you visit but respect the market - it is not a tourist attraction - it is daily life for the hard pressed.
