The large lion is the symbol of Bulgaria and this lion is impressive. The flame reminds everyone of people lost in conflict. Hence I think this combination is a very memorable tribute.

This sacred site is on an avenue that leads to the Alexander Cathedral. A simple plain down to earth memorial to those who will never be known but will be remembered here for eternity.

Being of military back ground we always take a moment at these sites, paying our respects. The huge lion statue represents the national symbol of Bulgaria, many people rub its paw for good luck.

in the front of Sveti Aleksandar Nevski you can stop to gett a shot with the lion. There is all so flame in front of the building.

No English signage. Near St Sofia church. Fresh flowers, unsure if there all time or if visit was near anniversary.
