You will not miss it on your tour of the city with the Lion statue. You can stop and take a photo like anywhere else.

This monument is tucked away, don't blink or you will miss it. Sadly, when I walked past most of the other tourists were taking selfies; with the Bulgarian Lion who is meant to be guarding the monument. The monument commemorates thousands of Bulgarian soldiers who...More

The large lion is the symbol of Bulgaria and this lion is impressive. The flame reminds everyone of people lost in conflict. Hence I think this combination is a very memorable tribute.

This sacred site is on an avenue that leads to the Alexander Cathedral. A simple plain down to earth memorial to those who will never be known but will be remembered here for eternity.

Being of military back ground we always take a moment at these sites, paying our respects. The huge lion statue represents the national symbol of Bulgaria, many people rub its paw for good luck.

The monument is a touching symbol for many Bulgarians, but for tourists in general it's unfortunately just "another" eternal flame and a statue of lion good enough to make a picture. It can not be missed, as it's situated between Al-r Nevsky Cathedral and Sofia...More
