My colleague and I decided to get out and walk a little bit of Belgrade on our recent trip. As it was the Winter months it meant that most places were either closed (it being early evening) or dark. We walked from our hotel up to the Belgrade Fortress and despite it being dark, the place was wonderfully lit up... More

At the end of the famous pedestrian street of Belgrade, Knez Mihailova, you enter Kalemegdan Park, a very nice park with excellent view of the city, ideal for walk.

You will find a nice view of confluence of Danube and Sava river. You can read about history of that brave nation in chirilic and English.

It's and interesting site to walk around in, with some nice views, but that's about it. I don't understand why it's the number one Belgrad attraction...

Belgrade Fortress is unlike other Eastern European fortresses. There's a surprising number of tennis/basketball courts nestled between the walls. There's a dinosaur park, with animatronic dinosaurs that roar (very cute for kids). There's a war museum inside, extensive and beautiful parkland and great views of the Danube. Great for a sunset picture.

Its amazing how well preserved the fortress is. You take a walk from the center of the town and you end up in the fortress which takes a lot of time to see it. A lot of statues, and monuments and wonderful view of the river.

Whenever I visit Belgrade, I go for a walk around Kalemegdan (Belgrade Fortress) on one of my first days in the city. The weather was perfect, sunny and with clear skies. Take a walk from the entrance to the park from the end of Knez Mihailova and enjoy the view of the junction of the Danube and Sava Rivers as... More
