The air museum is outdoors and located at the Zhuliany Airport the domestic airport in Kyiv. For the aviation enthusiast this is a good place to look at Soviet era aircraft military as well as civilian.

A lot of Russian/Sovjet airplanes and helicopters are exhibited, from WWI to the 1980s, mixing civilian and military models. I spent 3 hours there in rather bad weather and could probably use an hour more as there are so many exhibits, and you hardly see these makes and models in the west. The downside is that the exhibition is a... More

My little one really enjoyed this place, it's pity we had a limited time to visit it. It's close to Zhuliany airport so if you take a flight from/to there, definitely worth a couple of your hours. Ooh, and they gave a great service too - i had few questions prior yo my visit, so dropped them an email and... More

Excellent well laid out museum alongside Kiev's Zhuliany airport. Very cheap entrance fee with small additional costs (very small) to go inside a large number of the aircraft.

This is one neat place. You can see Soviet civilian and military aircraft and go inside a number of them. Since this facility isn't far from the city, you can easily do a city tour and then spend an hour or two at the aviation museum.

Impressive collection. You can get into the cabin of some planes and helicopters. The museum is right next to airstrip, which causes ocasional strong winds, but adds to the impression. Recommended!

We visited the out door museum in February and there was a fair bit of snow which was to be expected. The planes are neatly laid out and you are allowed to access them very close. Some have interior access but you have to pay extra for these. However, these trips are very cheap so we paid under 1 Euro... More

Marvelous collection of Soviet built aircraft. Kiev is home to the Antonov Design Bureau some there are some rare Antonov types on display. There are plenty of examples from the other builders as well: Tupolevs, Ilyushins, Sukhois, Yakovlevs, MiGs & Mils; and more besides. Entrance fee is very reasonable and you pay a little extra to take photographs. There are... More

There are literary tons of airplanes from Soviet age, and you can even tough it. It was such a special feeling for people from Western Bloc. There is even Yak-38, which is a soviet Harrier copycat, and you can touch it. Amazing.

Not being a large fan of military or aviation history, I wasn't sure how much this museum would interest me. I ended up loving the experience however, especially the opportunity to get inside some of the aircraft, sit in the cockpits, and see what riding in some of these aircraft must have been like. The grounds are fairly compact but... More
