We have seen many temples in Kiev and elsewhere, but most of them became a tourist attraction. St. Volodymyr's Cathedral is a relatively rare exception where local believers come to pray and try to endure the tourists. Unlike other churches in Kiev, it doesn't glitter...More

This was my favourite church in Kiev. Its interiors are most ornate and impressive. Yet, it is not a touristy place: ordinary people pop in there to light a votive candle and pray. Just sit yourself on one of only two small benches towards the...More

This church was about 500 metres from our hotel so it was the first attraction we visited in Kiev. It is nearly opposite the University metro station (red line 2) and close to other attractions like the Botanical gardens and Shevchenko Park. The color scheme...More

This cathedral is stunning inside and outside! On Sunday they ring bells that make your heart sing. It is right by a Botanical garden on one side and just a few blocks from Golden Gate.

We stopped here for 20 minutes and it was a good experience. Visit when there is a service. It cost to take photos but works out about £1.00 to do so.

I think it was about 50 UAH or so. But you could always ask someone from visitors to help you with translation, most young people in Kyiv speak English
