This is a UNESCO heritage site in Center Kiev. It is a wonderful, and inexpensive, place to visit that has a lot of history. It is an easy walk from the center of the city, less than 1 km, and is full of beautiful frescoes...More

This complex built Jaroslav the Wise in 11-th century to his wife Irina and to glory of Sophia (the Saint of wisdom). The old frescas from 11 centure are there. This place is very calming. Many artistic festivals are being organised there.

This is a small cathedral but both its interior and exterior are really beautiful.Whats more visiting Sophia might give certain insights about local history. If you want to visit the cathedral, try to do it before 17.00

Much better than Kyiv Lavra. Nice market in the square. On the way to old town from Maidan. Didn't came in the Cathedral.

These groups of structures are easily walked from either the Kyiv Hilton Hotel or the Kyiv Hyatt Hotel. The tower provides a beautiful view of the area and the plaza. The display of the early Kyiv is quite telling oh the city's development.
