Historic place with lots of attractions including the catacombs, cathedrals and museums. Wish only it would be without "shopping-mall" atmosphere.

The weird thing is that it has a lot of entrances and only one or two have seccurity guards to check for tickets, but if you find any of the other entrances you can access without paying.... BTW, the cost of the entrance is near 1$, so it's not too expensive to try to access without paying.

I am an American who has lived in Ukraine for 16 years. The Lavra is a place we take visitors. There is a log of beauty there, a tall tower from which you can see much of Kiev, and a great miniature museum. The catacombs are interesting and probably not the place for someone who struggles with claustrophobia/ To enter... More

Visited this place witm my 10 years old child. We both like it - it's beautiful, impressive, great city views. It's easy to find and access with public transport too.

Very strange place for oversea visitors!!! Keep calm inside. Take a photo only outside. You can feel mosaic architecture.

This amazing complex is spoiled by the lack of information. The price list is only in the local language as are most of the signs inside. The lovely lady at the ticket office was most helpful and her English was very good. However she failed to mention that if you wish to use a camera to take photos you need... More

It is worth a visit if you have extra time. It is interesting to see those caves and people kissing the courpses and praying so passionately. You need to hide your legs (even if you wear jeans as a woman) with long skirt and hide your hair with something too. It is different culture and it is strange and hard... More

Worth a visit for anyone who comes to Kiev. The museum of micro miniatures is a must see, as well as the beautifully painted churches and old buildings. Beautiful in spring and summer. The parks next to the Lavra is always busy with markets and summer activities. Do not miss out on this one!

A must visit if you're in Kiev. Site is amazing, but it was worthwhile going on a tour. We went to the tour office in the site and got a private guided tour in English for two for 350UAH. Worth doing. As other reviews indicate, there are restrictions on dress for women - it's necessary to cover hair with a... More
