We took one of these smaller boats through 3 locks on the Panama Canal during a Caravan tour. It is a great way to see how the locks work and also travel a part of the river leading to the canal . Would recommend if you are traveling to Panama.

We started our tour in Panama City. We met the Caravan group at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel. Nice hotel...clean rooms. We and 2 other couples made use of the outdoor pool. We bought some alcohol and made some drinks and relaxed before we hit the road the next day. The hotel is attached to Multiplaza Pacific Mall. This is an... More

If you are in Panama, you have to go through the modern wonder of the Panama Canal. You recall your grade school geography lessons about what an engineering feat this was. You've got to go through the locks to witness it. The sheer size of the locks. The massive amount of water that passes through. The number and size of... More

Amazing experience. Was a little concerned about pickup as others seem to have problem with it. But I called the day before and got an immediate response from Betzy who gave me a window they would arrive. They arrived right on time and the guide was great.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 7-day Caravan tour of the Panama Canal, we stayed at four 5-Star hotels(very nice), saw the different sets of locks both new & old, watched ships go through, stayed two nights at the Gamboa Rainforest Hotel, toured on a very nice bus, had a wonderful tour guide-"Yani", who was bi-lingual and very knowledgeable. The food was... More

Our Caravan tour package included the 6 hour 'partial' transit thru the Pacific-side locks that ended in Gamboa at the Rainforest Resort. Early morning our tourbus drove us along Panama City's impressive Amador Causeway to the Isla Flamenca marina where we loaded onto a Panama Canal passenger ferry. The ferry's bilingal cruise guide JC, was an imposing figure, made sure... More

Went through the canal on the south transit. Glad to have been a part of history. And got to touch the wall.

Incredible. Best... i did the canal tour on the Pacific Princess. They bus you out to Gatune Lake, then you ride down the man made river, watching huge ships glide past. Then you enter the locks themselves... what mose can be said. I have dine this tour twice in thenlast 6 years. Well worth it.
