Good place to make short walk up to the hill and to see the Panama city. You can also meet local fauna representatives :)

The hike up Cerro Ancon isn’t hard. It was hot in the afternoon, so people might want to do the hike in the morning when it is cooler. That said, there was a nice breeze at the top and the views of the canal and...More

We walked up around 4pm and it took us a total of 90 min roundtrip taking our time to enjoy the views and the fauna. We saw 4 or 5 toucans and a family of squirrel monkeys!!! Beautiful sunset views and amazing photo ops of...More

Do this moderate to easy hike in the mornings before the sun bears upon you. The view of Panama from the top are worth it. And it is free.

A easy hike to the top of Ancon Hill on paved paths awards you with 360 degree views of everything Panama City has to offer. We took a taxi ( $8 from biz area downtown ) to Mi Pueblito ( as a land mark for...More

This is by far one of the best places to see the modern skyline of the city, Casco Viejo and the canal. The hike up is at a gradual incline on a paved road (you can see my picture). The climb will take 20-30 minutes....More

Ancon Hill can be seen from all over Panama City. We went here because it comes so highly recommended. It is a 30-40 minute walk uphill, in the heat. Not for the faint of heart, although I did see families coming and going. Just be...More

We arrived at the side of Ancon Hill at 11:53am. Our driver told us it was going to take us 45 minutes or more to make it to the top. Challenge accepted. It only took the three of us exactly 21 minutes to climb up...More

Nice views once you hike to the top. At first look, it seems abandoned. No signs directing to the highest point in the city. Overlooks the city and the Canal Pacific side locks. It's worth the hike. Don't give up.

The climb to the top of Ancon Hill would not be closed as it's an outdoor hiking road. I would guess that the beautiful Port Authority building, as a government building, would be closed on weekends. Enjoy!

There are no gates or charges to Ancon Hill. I don't see how it would be closed.
