There is plenty of history in Panama to be shown here, but it's not. For me, as a Panamanian, this is a very sad visit. However, please come in and help us out pointing any suggestions you might have (authorities will listen to tourists more).

This Museum focuses on the early Spanish settlement in Panama and the few remaining souvenirs and ruins that were left after the place was destroyed by British pirates. The Museum is modern and well designed but the contents are few and run of the mill....More

This is just a nice example of what Panama City has to offer the cultural world. The museum is very quiet, and colorful. As with everything else you see in Panama City, there is much history in this museum and it’s a nice place to...More

$15 dollars to get in. Very expensive for a spread out Ruin site. Very boring.....not worth doing unless history is your thing....We walked around about an hour and saw a couple of old ruin walls....Doesn't compare to other sites like Delphi in Greece. Honestly there...More

You can pretty much only get here by taxi. If you take an Uber, be careful with the destination you enter, as there also a city district called Panama Viejo and while it's close, it's across the highway from the ruins. The museum is pretty...More

This is a pretty no-frills museum, with no gift shop or cafe, and just one floor of displays. But the admission price is pretty low, so you might as well stop in to take a break from the humidity and get a little background on...More

Panama Viejo was an amazing place to experience the history of the oldest settlement in Panama. The artifacts in the museum as well as the ruins that you can walk around & see are a testament of the cultural heritage of Panama.

This was our first stop on our tour of Panama City and it was a fleeting visit I normally like to take my time in museums but we were limited to 45 minutes which was just enough time. There is lots of information on charts...More
