Avenida Balboa is by far the best avenue to enjoy the city from- there is a bike lane, plenty of space to run, walk and workout. You can find basketball and tennis courts and plenty of other exercise points where you can take zumba classes ect.

Our first day we were not sure where to spend one evening and then went to this nice location. Ocean on one side and tall buildings on the other side, it is nice walk or you can jog, scenic also!!

The esplanade is a good spot to stroll and see the skyline of Panama city. The only challenge is getting there as there is an exceptionally busy road running alongside the walkway and only one bridge. Attempting to cross the street other than the bridge is almost impossible. The area leads to a marina and into the downtown area of... More

Construction continues apace along the high rise area jammed with hotels, restaurants and malls. Stay in Casco, but have a least a drink at the Hotel Bristol several blocks off Balboa

Finally, a nice place in a huge less than nice city to to the north of this street. Yes, there are spots there and the people are very nice but the traffic in PC is horrendous, the sidewalks yucko and much trash. Yet, this waterside parkway and fatcat puntas to the sudeste are what PC postcards would lead one to... More

We were staying at a high-rise apartment on Avenida Balboa, and had a rental car, so this review is from the viewpoint of a newly-arrived tourist driving a rental car. Several things one should be aware of: there are inner and outer lanes (separated by a median strip with grass and parking) for some stretches, and if you are in... More

Fantastic avenue to walk or for a nice bicycle ride. Its also very safe with friendly people around to help you when ever you need some assistance. At night time it is just as beautiful. Definitely worthwhile.

An avenue in the heart of Panama city with many new restaurants but no attraction at all. Not for walking unless you want to get mugged. You travel to and from in a car to get somewhere end of story.

It took several years but the Malecon (ocean walk( was restored and made visitor friendly. Kids play areas, sitting areas, picnic areas, lots of walking paths.... and views of the city and ocean.

This is a nice neighborhood and they close one lane for pedestrians and cyclists on Sundays. There are parks and other points of interest along the boardwalk. The Hilton has an amazing view of the bay from its lobby. It's a good place to get refreshments on a hot day.
