Jungle Gardens is on Avery Island, home to the Tabasco company where you can take a factory tour but the real treasure is in the 170 acre Jungle Garden where live oaks have been standing for centuries and in the Bird City rookery where Great White Egrets on nesting platforms raise their young. See the Gardens by car with stops... More

The Jungle Gardens is a self paced driving (or walking) tour through some rustic gardens. There are a number of ponds on the property and river just on the edge which host alligators and other wildlife. There are large numbers of azaleas and camellia plants along the drive...would truly be beautiful during the bloom. Be sure to visit the Bird... More

We really enjoy coming here. It's so pretty and serene. The drive was nice with a lot of areas to stop for pictures. A really fun day.

After touring the Pepper Factory & Gift Shop, we figured after going this far that we might as well see as much as offered on this property & it is an impressive spread of natural beauty with flowers & wildlife.

The entrance fee for the jungle gardens is way too high. Especially, if you are a senior on a budget. I never did understand why they don't have a senior entrance fee.

The Jungle Gardens at Avery Island is one of Louisiana's most serene sights to visit. Large oak trees, bamboo gardens, palms, azaleas, camellias, wisteria, this place is incredible. Wildlife such as egrets and alligators. The Buddha statue that was a gift and now sits in a enclosure that is just breathtaking. This place is incredible. A must see!

We enjoyed an early morning driving tour through the beautiful area. Saw several alligators, birds, and the beginning of Spring coming to life.

Spent a couple hours driving and getting out of car to walk in some areas. Did not see any alligators but lots of signs warning to stay away from them. Flowering shrubs in full bloom. So beautiful, came away feeling refreshed and relaxed. If we were local I would go on a regular basis.

This is a great venue if like nature.Although the road around was a little confusing at times it was worth the trouble. We really enjoyed viewing the Snowy Egrets.

This place is awesome! Hubby and I took our 3 boys here. It's a 3 mile loop with plenty of beauty to look at. You can walk or drive the route. We did both. Parked and walked all over the gardens. We saw quite a few alligators and different species of birds. So many beautiful places throughout and so rich... More
