Easy walk down to see thousands of birds roosting over the water. We saw an alligator swimming in the lake.

There were hundreds of cranes in residence and raising their young when I visited. It's amazing to think about how many migratory birds cross the US routinely--you get a sense of their volumes when you see such a large roost all in one place together.
