Located up the hill from the Old Town, this mosque was completed in 1492. The same year as Columbus sailed to the Americas. It is not a grand mosque, but is pleasing to the eye and worth a visit. It has changed little since it was built, but a renovation was completed in 2011. It is quite a walk up to the mosque, so take your time.

Much of this 1492-built mosque is original. Inside is very plain. The portico is of more interest, with painted domes and an inscription in old Turkish.

This is definitely one of the oldest buildings we've seen in Skopje, and is so beautifully designed. The large dome in tall minaret stand tall, and a must visit.

A renovated 15th-century mosque with historic architecture, a rose garden, and a tomb. A very peaceful place and was invited inside to sit on a prayer. A beautiful inside and can be seen from the fortress.

..... which allowed you to go inside (quite unusual).
As most mosques was not glossy but did have an eye catching mosaic floor to ceiling.
Ladies will have to wear scarfs which are provided.

We were there during prayer time, so we had a glimpse inside as to not disturb the religious activity. The Mosque is beautiful both on the inside and on the outside, and gives some great views of Skopje too!

It is near to the old bazaar on the high peak. You see the Skopje from there. It is very old mosque from Ottaman time. You should visit its garden and inside.

The mosque stands above the old bazaar area of Skopje and is a simple but attractive building. The surrounding garden is peaceful and tranquil and the mosque has a pleasantly decorated interior ceiling. It’s free to visit in between prayer times and, as with all mosques, modest dress is required. Bare shoulders and legs are not allowed so there are scarves provided for use by visitors.

This mosque is quite nice, but there is only some information about it so you don't have much to do there.
