What a great week with hire car. Half day visit to KIngston and the Historic Area is a must.To see all the old history still standing with restorations where possible was amazing. A walk through the cemetery takes you back through three ages from Fletcher Christian and the Bounty to the Pitcairn Islanders to the present. With 80% of current... More

Such a beautiful spot with such a sad history attached to it. If you can I would recommend the ghost tour around here as well.

It was amazing to visit this area but also very sobering especially walking the pier and thinking of the people who walked before us. The buildings and history was interesting. Such a beautiful settling for those poor souls who were transported as convicts.

You need a car to get here, as there are no pavements and it's a bit scary walking round some of the bends (I speak from experiewnce). It's also a long way back up! Very interesting site, but can be depressing because of its convict history.

This area is a 'must visit' as it embodies the complete history of Norfolk Island. The guided are excellent, but one can also browse the many locations at leisure. The historic displays are excellent and the staff are always helpful. Many of them are related to the islands original settlers.

Walking through the buildings and imagining the life of a convict. A very moving and thought provoking walk through history.

This was a return visit for us, and again we spent many hours down here. The history combined with the absolutely stunning scenery is a winning combination. All visitors to the island gravitate to this area. As well as the Museum pass that gives you access to many of the buildings, there is much to explore on your own.

It's hard to believe that such horrible things happened in what is now such a beautiful place. An interesting place to wander around in at different times of the day. Such an amazing spot especially when the waves are crashing in and the sun is going down. One of the best places on an island that has beautiful places in... More

Great to walk around and see the remains of the old jail and hear its history. Magnificent old stone wall still surrounds the site.

The history of the island and it's different inhabitants is well displayed in this historic area. The tag along tours are also great for learning some of the personal stories. Well presented and each of the 4 museums has something unique to offer.
