In the midst of high winds, surf and blowing sand, this lighthouse stands majestically at Great Point. We were able to see the seals, and lighthouse in one visit.

Extremely easy to access, just drive or walk up to the end of the street and walk across the sand to it. Beautiful, iconic lighthouse that you don't want to miss at sunrise - the sun comes up behind it and it's beautiful.

I love this lighthouse, but I'll admit that it's a special place for me because my wife and I got married about 10 feet from it many years ago. It's a very popular place to exchange vows on Nantucket. It's also the second oldest lighthouse in the U.S. (Boston Light being the first). It is the site of many many... More

Great view of harbor. Sandy and Shelly beaches was great to walk on. Clear water. Very little wave action. Great for photos!

Nice beach with a lighthouse at the end. Good view of the harbor, coarse sand with plenty of shells and sea birds.

Classic lighthouse and an easy, interesting walk through Nantucket make this a favorite! Even more interesting on a rainy, fog-filled morning :)

Nothing much to see...we walked by this lighthouse and didn't really get excited about it. It's a close walk from our hotel, the White Elephant.

This is a beautiful and historic lighthouse in a wonderful location. It is a shot (10 minute) walk from most of the hotels. It is a nice walk to get there. It is also fun to walk on the beach and watch all the tour boats coming and going. Note that the beach by the water has a lot of... More

Perfect place for relaxation, fishing and wandering or even just read your favorite book with the sound of waves and great horn from ships leaving the Island.

As a working lighthouse it is worth the visit if only for it's picturesque beauty. It is a short walk from the center of downtown. Combine the visit with a stop at the brant Point Grill at the White Elephant for a drink or light lunch along the way!
