Nantucket Walkabout is Nantucket's only year-round guided natural history hiking service. We pick you up in our air-conditioned van downtown and drive out to the trailhead. Hikers will gain a clear understanding of how the last glacier formed the island 21,000 years ago, how wildlife and plants populated Nantucket and learn about conservation efforts, and the first humans to live on the island.

We went to sunset walk. WE were picked up at exactly 5.30pm. It turned up there were only 2 of us in the group, so we felt like we had a private tour. It was beautiful and well paced, adjusted for our abilities. Thanks Peter

You could take a walk on your own, of course, but then you'd miss out on a visit to one of the Island's special places with a knowledgeable and affable naturalist. You wouldn't know why the holly trees are so short in one particular area,...More

I like shopping as much as anyone, but it pales in contrast with going deep to really learn about the place I'm visiting. Our hike with Nantucket Walkabout let us go deep. Peter has a wealth of information about history, geology, critters, and plants. He...More

A guided walk with Peter Brace of Nantucket Walkabouts needs to be at the top of every visitor’s list of things to do on Nantucket. We have been many times to the island, but never saw or knew of the things Peter showed us until...More

Sorry for the delay. The terrain was flat and sandy. My wife is not particularly athletic was very comfortable. I assume, he would tune it to your needs.
