Large ruins with lots to see. Pretty large grounds to wander around on. Close to downtown. It's funny one of the reviews says "beware of tour guide Marcellino." This guy got me too. I know better, but bit off anyway. He is wearing a shirt that makes him look like an official guide, but once he is done, he gouges... More

Came to this site with a group and our Guatemala hosts had already organized a guide for us. He was extremely informative and well worth having. Unfortunately, it appears we did not view all parts of the convent. More than likely because of time restraints and the size of our group. If I was very to return to Antigua, I... More

Antigua has so many fabulous churches and convents. Santa Clara is no exception, lovely church, and surroundings.

The ruinas are impressive and extensive. Some parts partially restored or undergoing restoration. This complex is so large that you need to allow a minimum of 90 minutes to see it all. The main cathedral is massive. There are numerous underground crypts but they are closed off due to so many loser graffiti artists defacing them. We paid 90q pp... More

It is such a beautiful museum of ruins. This is a great location whereat to take pictures. The flowers are blooming. It just takes you several years back in time.

The Convento Santa Clara is beautiful and interesting. A guide approached me as I entered and he gave a wonderful tour. He showed me all the accessible rooms, explained what they were used for and told me what life was like for the nuns living there. At the end, he wanted $20 for the tour. I paid him but felt... Great foto opps abound, lots of places to explore and poke about. Arches, pretty gardens, a fountain, volcano views and pleasently free of visitors when i was there in the late afternoon.

The Convento de Santa Clara is a large and interesting convent to explore. Inside the tall walls surrounding this convent, I discovered such beautiful and intricate colonial architecture, a pretty water fountain in the centre of an amazing courtyard, expansive rooms and gorgeous manicured gardens. The courtyard was surrounded by buildings with beautiful arches. There were lots of pathways, hallways... More

More ruins, with the higher price tag of Q40, but worth the effort to see. The central fountain surrounded by arches are imposing, as is the former church which is now open to the skies. Nice tranquil spot to visit.

I had no expectation of this facility, and was completely blown away by the beauty of these ruins. Amazing. Worth a visit to tour inside
