While I'm not religious, it is easy to be awed by both the inside and outside of this cathedral. The outside has gorgeous architecture and statues. While I didn't take any photos of the inside because it felt disrespectful, on the there are life-size versions...More

I enjoyed seeing this cathedral both at night and during the day. After dark it is lit up beautifully and is very majestic. Inside is a little disappointing compared to the outside but it is worth a visit.

If you are short on time/money/interest in ruins then the cathedral ruins are the ones you must see. Right off the side road from the central plaza these are really beautiful and photogenic remains representative of, but more impressive than, others you can visit

Step through those beautiful handcrafted wood doors and you will be awe struck by all the beauty and history on the other side. Do not go to Antigua without visiting this majestic cathedral!

Splendid Santiago Cathedral, in front of the beautiful and clean central park; Full of history and worthy of visiting it at 6:00 am when the town is silent and cold. Its ruins in the back are beautiful; In addition its rear part is rejuvenated. Very...More

This is a beautiful church which over looks the main plaza. Sadly, we were only there for the day and the church was not open. We aren't really sure why, but one local told us it had to do with lent. Nonetheless, we were a...More
