Brought our grandson here and we had a great time. We took lots of quarters for buying fish food-the highlight of the trip-feeding the fish. This is such a well maintained place with great staff and right off the biking trail if you ride from Petoskey. The under creek viewing area is awesome.

Rainbows, Browns and Brook Trouts come from here. This is a fun walk where you can see live fish in a walk in fish tank along the flowing river. Pretty cool with walk out decks, brand new, to get right out into the ponds where you can see jumbo trout and are they aggressive when the food is.

Loved the rail car and then our walk to see the fish ponds. Felt like a kid feeding the fish and loved the viewing station to see the fish in the stream under water!! Great time and even our puppy enjoyed the walk too!!

This was my first visit to Oden Stae Fish Hatchery and I must say that I will return again. The hatchery is located North East of Petoskey. The staff are very informative and helpful. The grounds are spacious and beautiful to walk through. There is a spot where you can observe the fish under water and several ponds where you... More

The Odon state fish hatchery is a must see for all people.it is family friendly and barrier free. We particularly enjoyed the underwater fish viewing area. There is s wide variety of wild flowers, easy walking trails, and interactive exhibits. Feeding the fish and the ducks was a particular treat. Bring some quarters for the fish food.

Very hands on, the grand kids had a great time feeding the fish and ducks. Saw two otters in the big pond. Saw two great blue herroms, one got away with a small fish. A must see for all!

We have a 9 and 11 year old. We had the tour of the hatchery with Christine, who was so friendly and knowledgable. We all loved the tour, and our 11 year old, who loves fish and science, said it was the best part of our week long camping trip in Petoskey. We returned to Oden a few days later... More

The Michigan Fisheries Visitor Center located in Oden is a hidden gem along US-31 north of Petoskey. It's a free attraction offering well maintained trails, a tour of the hatchery operation, large trout feeding ponds and a railcar museum. We happened to be there when they were offering a free youth fishing morning which the kids loved, especially because fishing... More

We enjoyed our visit to the hatchery and it seemed that even the younger people in the group did as well. Our guide was personable and knew the answers to the questions everyone asked. The huge trout probably were the star of the show. It made a nice change from the usual outdoor activities.

Very good conducted tour, plus a good wander through grounds. Informative and fun for a family. Plan to spend at least an hour and maybe two.
